Animated Butterfly Wings
| In this tutorial you
will need Psp and Animation Shop. I used psp 9 |
| but I think you could
do this in other versions just as well. You will also |
| need the tubes, that
you can download here |
| I made the butterfly
tube and the beautiful flowers tube came from |
| CCD'S Tube Heaven.
that she was kind enough to let me use. |
| You can visit her
site here |
If you don't want to
use my tubes feel free to use your own. |

Making the background....
1...Open the tubes and a new
canvas in psp. Use these settings...
width = 350 Units =
Pixels
Height = 350
Resolution = 200.00
Pixel/inch
Raster Background = checked
Color Depth = 16 Million Colors
(24bits)
Transparent = checked
2...Set the foreground color to a
pale pink color/ I used
R = 227
G = 185
B = 199
Now use the flood fill tool and
fill the canvas with the pale pink.
Next we will want to add a new
layer. Go to top, click Layers, then
New Raster Layer.
3... Now go back to the
foreground and change to a darker color.
I am using
R =141
G = 87
B = 102
Now flood fill the canvas
with the Flood Fill Tool
4..Now go to the top and click Selections,
then click Select All
You should see marching ants
around your canvas.
Now go back and click Selections,
then go down to modify then click
Contract.
Number of Pixels = 14
Click ok.
Now hit the delete key on your
keyboard.
Now go back to click Selections
and click Select None.
5... Now we will add a drop
shadow to the frame.
Go to the top click Effects, 3D,
then click Drop shadow.
Use these settings.
Vertical = 2
Horizontal = 2
Opacity = 74
Blur = 4.00
Color = Black
Shadow on new layer = unchecked
Do this step again but this time
change the Vertical and the
Horizontal to -2
Adding
the tubes
1...Open the
Copy the flower tube, then Paste as
new Layer on top of your frame image.
You can now use the move tool to
arrange the tube like you want.
2...After you have it arranged
the way you want it, we will make a
duplicate of the tube, To do this
go up to the top, click
Layers then click Duplicate
.
3... Now we will give it a glow,
To do this go to the top, click Adjust
go down to Blur, then click
Gaussian Blur.
Set Radius to = 16.00 then click
ok.
4... Now we will move this layer
down one. To do this. Go to the top
click Layers, then go down
to Arrange, then click Move Down.
Do this step once again. So that
you have moved down twice.
5. Now go to the top click
Effects, go down to Texture Effects and click
Mosaic Glass. Use
these setting....
Number of Columns = 25
Glass curvature = 52
Number of Rows = 25
Edge curvature = 0
Symmetric = checked
Grout width =3
Grout diffusion = 96
You are now done with you image.
So we will merge
and save the image. To merge, go
to the top click Layers, go down
to Merge and click Merge
Visible.
Now click File,
then Save As. Save in a place where you
will
be able to
find it. Save as a psp file or gif file. Both will
work.
