Animated Glitter Snowman |
In this tutorial you will learn about layers and adding glitter to images. |
I did this with paint shop pro version 9, but I think you will be able to |
Do it in other versions just as well. |
For this tutorial you will need the snowman pieces that I have already made and you will |
also need the red and gold glitter tiles You can down load these here |
Ok, lets get started. |
1...First of all you will want to open up the snowman pieces and both the red and gold glitter |
tiles in paint shop pro.You can see the pieces are already there so all we have to do is put |
Frosty back together again. |
2…Click on the Move Tool on the left side of the screen. |
![]() |
Use your mouse to adjust the pieces to make a snowman, like The one below. |

3… Once you have the pieces the way you want them we will have to use the layer palette. If the |
the layer palette isn’t already on the screen you can open it by going to : |
View > Palettes > then over to Layers. |
Tip…. You can also do this by clicking F8 on your keyboard. |
It should look something like this. |
![]() |
4… Notice how each of the snowman has a different names ? Each one of these are layers. |
Now we will want to make all the pieces into one layer. So we will have to merge them all together. |
To do this…. Go to the top of the screen and click Layers, then move down to where |
It says Merge, then > click Merge Visible. |
![]() |
Now the snowman is all one merged piece . |
5... Now, in the layer palette we are going to change the name Merge to the name snowman 1. |
To do this, go to the top of the screen and click… Layers then go down and click Properties. |
You should now have a box like the one below. |
Now go to where it says name and change the name to snowman 1 |
![]() |
Your layer palette should now look like this… |
![]() |
6… Now we are going to make 2 duplicate layers of the snowman that you already have in the layer |
palette. To do this, go back to the top of the screen and click … Layer then click Duplicate. |
7…. We will need one more layer so we will repeat step 6 again. |
Now you should have 3 layers in your layer palette |
8. Now we will want to rename the two layers you just made. So go over to the layer palette |
palette and click on top of the one that says: Copy of snowman 1. Once you click on it, it should turn |
blue. Now go back to the top and click …. Layers the go down and click properties. Should see |
the same box as you did in step 5. Change the name this Time to snowman 2. |
